With profound sadness we have heard of the beginning of the crucifixion of our sisters and brothers in Ukraine. Our Catechism teaches us, (par.2307) “The fifth commandment forbids the intentional destruction of human life. Because of the evils and injustices that accompany all war, the Church insistently urges everyone to prayer and to action so that the divine Goodness may free us from the ancient bondage of war.”
We have begun a Novena of intercession to our Lady of Sorrows for Ukraine – indeed, for all those caught in the evil unleashed by evil men and women. Only through the Lord Jesus and the intercession of our Lady can peace ever be realized. We shall pray this for nine days at noon and after the masses on Sunday. Please lift your prayers to our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
